It stands for Jake Of All Trades, a name I generally create under as a personal brand. Like “Madonna” or “Meatloaf”.
Its also a little joke at my own expense, as I’ve collected a staggering amount of interests, skills, experiences and equipment over the years.
I’m 33, UK Southern Born but Northern Based since ~2016. I’ve been involved in creative works of some kind since age 14, with a combination of formal education, apprenticeship, internship and just good-old self study.
I like to laugh, make cool things and help people live more interesting lives. A unique career of deep creative outlets and professional IT have given me the ability to serve as the Man In The Chair, a Hired Gun or even the Core of a Team.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many people living in my area with the experience, equipment and outlook I have - I know because I’m always searching for them.
Furthermore, I’ve been doing this since I was a teenager. I know first hand the change new skills can make in your life, whether as a professional pursuit or something for fun.
Finally, I understand the joys and pains of creating - you will be working alongside someone who is encouraging, enthusiastic and relentlessly passionate.
-
Yes!, I’m DBS checked <link to proof> and have taught people of all ages.
I teach at a professional space in Dean and Chapter Industrial Estate, Durham - not a pub backroom or stranger’s garage.
If you would like to sit in on tuition for peace of mind, you’re welcome to. Most parents feel comfortable after a few lessons and no longer feel the need.
-
Prices are listed on all appointments at the time of booking.
My aim is to reflect the wealth of experience, quality equipment and infectious positivity I bring to the table, while also remaining affordable for small creators, younger people and area locals.
For works that don’t fit the appointment model, please use the “Contact” form.

Politely, no. I believe GenAi in it’s current form is an utter betrayal of the artistic community and the human soul - and I will not contribute to that issue.
Seriously, no.
